In addition to being complimented on an excellent edition of the Pirate, the yearbook staff, and the sponsor, Mrs. Nancy Mayo, are to be commended for the co-operative spirit and dedication they showed in assembling this pictorial history of the 1978-79 school year. Also to be commended are the faculty, the parents, and the students who worked to make the academic program and the extracurricular activities worthy of being recorded. I am confident that the faculty and the citizens of the communities supporting the school will continue to work for a school which will help our students develop compe- tencies that enable them to shape their lives for a successful future. I am also confident that each individual associated with our school shares my goals for a school noted for its academic strength, outstanding extracurricular activities, and superior physical plant.
