TROTTI Since today's young citizens must be involved in the education and welfare of his country, it is most reassuring to see the principal and the teachers of the Hicks High School directing the academic and extracurricular activities of the students so that they can more easily make the transition from schoolchild to young adult. When each of you students go from Hicks High School to take your place in the adult world. I trust that your activities will creditably reflect the worthwhile precepts which your school has undertaken to teach. 1 wish to compliment the staff and sponsor for their contributions involved in com- piling and editing this yearbook. I also wish to extend the warmest regards to each student enrolled. 1 hope that this yearbook may be many years serve to verify by print and pictures the many experiences that you have enjoyed during this school term and to help you find inspiration to continue such worthwhile activities. Sincerely, MRS. J. C. TROTTI School Board Member, Ward Eight MESSAGE FROM THE PRINCIPAL During this school year many changes have occurred in our school with the ad- dition of new subjects in die curriculum, new teachers, additional programs and services to the student, as well as a new all time high in enrollment. These changes and attempts to up-date our total school program are an indication of the direction in which education is going. You as students, your parents, and we as teachers must adjust to the new. demands with new determinations and desires to excel. As you look to the future you will notice that only those who are adequately . prepared, probably motivated, and have an intense desire are achieving success. 1 would like to congratulate the sponsors and staff of The Pirate” as this annual reflects many activities and programs of our school year so vividly.
