Dedication Robert Wayne Tolbert was a member of the class of 1969, a varsity basketball player, and a member of the I. A. and 4-H Clubs. He transferred from Oak Hill High School in 1967 and became well-liked and an asset to the student body. He shall long be remembered for his joy of life, determination, and ambition as a student at Hicks High School. Therefore the 1969 PIRATE is dedi- cated to the memory of Robert Wayne Tolbert.

Foreword In addition to traditional three R’s (readin1, 'ritin’, and ’rithmetic), the Hicks High School curriculum is planned so as to include the three R’s of citizenship - Rights, Responsibility, and Respect. The yearbook staff, aware of the responsibility of presenting a true picture of life at Hicks High School, has attempted through pictures and captions to show the citizens of tomorrow.
