School Board Member Ward 8 Mrs. J. C. Trotti Words fail to express my feelings for having such a wonderful group of students that have strived in every way to help promote a good school pro- gram, and more especially is this true with the annual staff. I can recall no time in my past experience when a group has worked harder and co- operated better than the students of Hicks High School during the 1966-67 school year. May I say in behalf of the school board and members of our fine faculty that your efforts and attitudes are appreciated. The completion of this annual marks the successful accomplishment of an objective. It proves that you have the ability to succeed and to accomplish a task no matter how arduous it might be. I am confident you will face problems wisely and arrive at decisions that will be a credit to you and to the Hicks School. May God prosper you in all your endeavors and strengthen you in perseverance. Mrs. J. C. Trotti Vernon Parish School Board Members

Friends: I should like to take this opportunity to commend the faculty and students of Hicks High School who have given freely of their time and efforts to make it possible for us to enjoy the many activities which are presented in this yearbook. It records people and events not merely in terms of the observable in the classroom and at rec- reation, but it also reveals much of the deeper meaning that high school graduation and training can have in the lives of boys and girls. The warmhearted feeling and fine professional spirit demonstrated by teachers and students in your school is an inspiration to all of us. 1 realize, too, that this remarkable achievement cannot be accomplished without co-operation and leadership ability. It is with great satisfaction that I am able to speak of you as my friends , and with deep sincerity, wish you continued success in your every endeavor. Sincerely, Curtis Bradshaw, Superintendent Vernon Parish Schools Superintendent of Vernon Parish Schools
