H.H.S. Principal The students of Hicks High School are proud to have Mr. W. L. Bennett, Jr. as principal. S. as principal, Mr. Bennett taught general science and biology and coached basketball in the Leesville High School. He assisted with the football and track teams until 1962. His first year as a teacher was at the Hornbeck High School, 1951-52. Mr. Bennett, an active member of the First Baptist Church, Leesville; Jr. Chamber of Commerce; Civitan Club; Vernon Parish Teachers Assoc.; and LTA, has served as VPTA president, Vernon Parish delegate to L.T.A. and a member of the State Teacher Welfare Committee, LTA and of the State Public Relations Committee, LTA. At present he is Chairman, Vernon District of the Boy Scouts of America; Maintenance Officer, 225th Engr. Grp., La. National Guard; and Director, Vernon Parish Sheriffs Baseball Association. He works each year with the Lions Club on the annual Basketball Jam- boree. Mr. Bennett obtained his BS degree from Louisiana College, ME degree from Stephen F.
