School Board Member's Message To: The 1964-65 Hicks High School Annual Staff As school board member from Ward 8, let me say that I am proud of the accomplishments of Hicks High School during the 1964-65 school year. Among the many achievements of the students at our fine school is this annual, the Pirate. In this document I find reflected the many phases of school life and the achievements of our fine students from the various communities in this ward. It indicates a sense of pride in being a part of the educational system in Vernon Parish. I wish to congratulate the sponsor and staff for the fine work in developing this annual. (2C-JxaJGz Mrs. J. Principal’s Message This annual reflects the many areas of school work at Hicks High School. In it we see the physical and mental experiences which help develop students into worthwhile citizens. It will serve as a challenge to the future to inspire higher achievements by those students who view its pages. It reflects a fine spirit of cooperation between students, teachers and parents which is of necessity if our system of public education is to function properly. The advertisement section indicates a desire by merchants and business men in the area to promote education in our community. Let me take this opportunity to congratulate the entire annual staff for this milestone of success in the history of Hicks High School. y v. jC. i W. L. Bennett, Jr. Principal
