These teachers have given many years of service, so that we and others like us might have the advantages of a comfortable plant and a good education. They have helped us to acquire skills which will enable us to meet all life situations successfully and to appreciate all worthwhile things. Teachers who have been so patient and considerate with us when our attitudes were so undesirable and our efforts so feeble, should be rewarded for their care in directing us from day to day. With deepest appreciation we dedicate this 1954 edition of the Trojan to Mrs. Mary E. Jones, our sponsor, and Mr. Foster Norton, our superintendent. DEDICATION SUPERINTENDENTUS MESSAGE Dear Seniors: The time is close at hand when we will be bidding you farewell as students of this school. You have been a fine group of boys and girls to work with, and I wish you success and happiness in your life's work. I would, also, like to remind you that your education is just beginning. What you have acquired in school is just the foundation on which you will build that life which is yours to direct. Here are a few PROVERBS that might serve as guides for you. Guard well your spare moments. They are like uncut diamonds. Discard them, and their value will never be knowng improve them, and they will become the brightest gems in a useful life. --Emerson Courtesy is nota veneered politeness of manner, but an innate quality of the mind and heart. --Kleiser A man who makes a mistake and doesn't correct it is making another mis- take. -- Confucius Ifa man seeks for greatness, let him forget greatness and ask for truthg and he will find both. --Mann HICKORY RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL JD Uma' MRS, MARY E.
