9 O STUDENT ATHLETIC ASSOCIATION The Student Athletic Association under the guidance of Mr. Baker, Mr. Meehan, and Mr. Seitz has been very active this year. During football, basket- ball, and baseball season, they take care of various business details that must be adjusted before any game can be played. Arrangements for referees, sign printing, advertising, ticket printing, ticket sellihg, score keepers, the public address system. All become a part of every game. Several dances were held this year under the auspices of the SAA. Our smooth-running athletic program this year was the direct concern of: Dorothy White, treasurer: Bill Carter: Lucian Iohnson, Vice President: Ralph Findling, President: Ann Brindak, Secretary. SENIOR CHEERLEADERS Alle-genee-genac-genac! Yea Hickory-Fight! Fight! Fight! Alle-genee-qenac-genac! Let's go Hickory These are some of the chants of our mistresses of cheer. Throughout the year, the cheerleaders accomplished much in the way of spreading and keeping school spirit and pep. To these energetic ladies we extend a hand of thanks for their support of athletics. Early in the F all, the' regular election of the wearers of White and Green, was held. It was regretful that only a select few oi the contestants could be chosen to-represent their Alma Mater. Marjorie White, Donna Bowen, and Geraldine Kler were elected to represent the Iunior Class and till positions vacated by last y'ear's graduating Seniors. They join Ann Brindak, Shirley Caldwell, and Dorothy White, thus making up the Senior Cheerleaders. Phyllis Beaumariage, Eileen Acheson, Nancy Gema, Norma Gema, Mary Lou Blackburn, and Sue Blackburn, Robert Smith, and Alice Collett were elected from among the Freshman contestants. They join Dolores Vermeulen, Ruth Huber, Doris Iean Campbell, and Marilyn Smith from the Sophomore Class. CHEERLEADERS 31
