flaaqfwu 1935-7947 During the last twelve years Hickory Township schools have kept pace with community development in the expansion of curriculum and administration. Progressing from a system of two teaching principals and twenty-eight teachers, in 1935, we now have a supervising principal, a high school principal, two elementary principals, forty-two class room teachers, and two full time secretaries. Mutual understanding and cooperation in matters of administration were helped by the formation of a student council government in 1938. Bookkeeping and typing classes, introduced in 1935-1936 and taught in the library, have been developed into a complete commercial course. The library, founded in 1931 through gifts from the P. T. A., Sharpsville school district, contributions of friends and support of the local school district, has become an efficiently operating department, hampered only by lack of space. The High School band organized in 1936 was provided with regu- lar instruction in 1937. It has developed into one of the finest in this area. The latest addition to the High School building dedicated Febru- ary 19, 1940 has made possible the addition of a home economics de- partment, the vocational agriculture and shop courses, and the expan- sion of the science department from a small cramped laboratory lo- cated on the third floor to two efficiently conducted laboratories in the south wing of the building. A visual education department was organized largely as a result of the impetus given to the idea by the class of 1941 who presented project- or equipment to the school. Thus we see a progressive dynamic and growing community is re- flected IH its school '7!w.S'c!1wZ5 MARGE HVOZDA .Secletaiy to M1 A R Reimold C iaduate of H1Ck0ly high school 1946 Left Aplll 1 replaced by Bettv Ann Shu tu Graduate of Hickoiy high chool 1944 MARX JO ADDIS Secretary to Mr. Kenneth R.
