SENIOR FAREWELL Ship ahoy: The anchor is lifted, The seniors set sail from Port Hickory Hig For the time has come to say Good-bye, To other shipmates now enlisted. Four years we spent within this bay, With a light house eager to guide, Those on a rough or smooth tide, But the end of that voyage has come to-day. Now we turn to the distant sea, Beyond the horizon with courage and strife, We look to a new and Venturous life, Ship ahoy: another journey begins for you and you and me. -ELEANOR HOAGLAND. SHIPMATES FOREVER Our ship is anchored in the harbor, With her banner hoisted high, Seniors, forty-eight in number, About to leave old Hickory High. We stand on deck, in blue and white, With eager faces to the west, Ready to do with all our might, Whatever we know is for the best. Shipmates forever, may we always be, Ready to lend a helping handy As we sail o'er the waters of life's stormy sea Always a faithful, worthy band. And as we lift the anchor, To begin our endless trip, May our cry ring o'er the water, We won't give up the ship. -HELENE MCCUE. 20
