Anticipation During this school year we have been busy fitting together the ideas, pictures, layouts, and copy that make up this 1967 edition of the yearbook. These pictures depict the different stages of work and fun--from the beginning of the year, when ads and candy were sold to raise money, to the end of the year when Glenda and Linda, the editors, proofread the final copy and inspected the Dummy. After the yearbook covers were selected, we began to make preparation for the Colonel Rebel and Lady Contest--one of the out- standing events of the school year. The annual Who's Who Contest is, also, sponsored by the Rebel Staff. Numerous snapshots were made at school by our own photographer, as well as by our profes- sional photographer. We have devoted many hours of work to the development of this book, and we appreciate the spirit of cooperation displayed by all the faculty and students. Without this cooperation, it would be im- possible for us to present to you THE REBEL, 1967. Things have not always been as you wanted them to be, but all things have many times worked together for the good. Now as you go your separate ways, not knowing if happiness or sorrow will cross your path, hold the thoughts of your days spent in Hickory Flat High as the happiest of your life. Turn to this rambling struc- ture which houses the best of students and adults and simply say, Thanks for the memory. JU vcLol NTn Glenda McNeal and Linda Thompson I V.
