During recess and lunch the elementary students have fun on the playground supervised by Mrs. Ayres and Miss Daniel. It's hard to tell who enjoys the Hillbilly act more, the Seventh Grade girls or their audience. STUDENTS AND The Junior-Senior Banquet is a special event en- joyed by both student and teacher each year. Work is a very definite part of Hickory Flat school. Here typing students receive instruc- tions on typing a busi- ness letter from Miss Dixon.

4 WE SALUTE OUR TOWN The 1964 School Annual salutes OUR TOWN. Hickory Flat, to us, means many things. It means Home, and wherever we may be in the years ahead, we will remember it, with its abun- dance of churches, its factory, its stores, its bank, and its quiet streets and lovely homes. OUR TOWN means all the people in it. It means their friendliness, their thoughtfulness, their kind- ness, their generosity, their support. It means the place where many of us were born, and where some of our loved ones are buried. It means the place our parents chose as the possible one for the rearing of their families. OUR TOWN means progress. Not only do we have our older busi- nesses, but new ones along the highway have added to the prosperity of us all. To Hickory Flat, OUR TOWN, in this salute we offer our appreciation and our thanks for the things you mean to us.
