Students Conduct State Politics Sponsored by the school and by several civic organizations, nine iunior girls and fifteen junior boys attended Girls' and Boys' State as delegates from Hickman. All delegates were assigned to the Nationalist or Federalist Party at the' beginning of the week. During the week, lectures were schedule for instruction in law, political science, the highway patrol, iournalism, and parliamentary procedure. Delegates put theory into practice as they campaigned for various officials of their miniature state, following the processes of actual government. Mrs. Naumann and Mr. Powell stack the attendance slips to send to North Hall. Delegates to Boys' State in 1964 were: Front Row: Pat Dennis, Lee Eckhardt. Row 2: Herb Watchinski, Jim Snider, Peter Early Row 3: Pitts Jarvis, Terry Nelson, Eric Griffin Row 4: Kirk Kelly, Bob Woodruff, Jack Morgan.
