Sportsmanship! That's what the Girls' Ath- letic Association promotes. This organization strives to provide a wide variety of sports for all girls who are interested. Each sport in which the girls participate has a manager who schedules all the games. This year a new system was used: a champion team from each class was decided by a tour- nament, and then the sophomore, junior, and senior teams played for the sport champion- ship. The sports and managers of this year were Larol Haley speedball Celia Burge volleyball Jean Smith, basketball Nancy Weatherly ping pong Pat Lay shuffleboard Mary A Whltesides baseball Ann Cornett archery Marlbeth Buescher tennis Carol Turner bowling ,lo Murray aerial darts This club used the point system, and with a certain number of points, girls won letters, pins bracelets, or blankets depending on the number of points earned At the end of the year a banquet was held in honor of the seniors where the new officers were announced and the awards were given Seated Treasurer Bondurant Vice President Corley President Snodgrass and Secretary Milhron Stand mg Point Recorder Overstreet Co ordmator Throck morton Point Recorder Davis and Point Recorder Wyatt

One of Hickmanis best established clubs is the Future Farmers of America. F .F .A. is composed of a group of boys who have a definite interest in becoming farmers. This club strives for better methods and knowledge of farming. The studies cover all the various phases with the help of their sponsor, Mr. Dave Schneider. The organization is trying to obtain all the modern machines to help them in their studies Besides their studies and projects the club helped -os b I . ,T A2? 'X'v -' sq ls'4eux5 Q 0 Secretary Grant, Treasurer Buchanan, Reporter Jacobs, Sentinel Morgan, President Mowry, Vice President Riggs. immensely in the Christmas program by bringing the trees and shrubberies for the scenery. ln October the F .F .A. held their annual Barnwarming. After a full night of square dancing, Kent Mowry and Lynn Griffen were elected king and queen.
