During the meetings, several scenes of which are pictured above, school policies, administrative problems, and teaching techniques were discussed. Results were shown in a new grading system adoption, in required testing at the end of each quarter, and in rejection of the Educational Development Tests. To become better-acquainted at the beginning of the year, a tea was held at which the new teachers were introduced. Then at Christmas time a turkey potluck supper was enjoyed by all members of the faculty and their families. On Tuesday, May 25 a last get-together was held-a luncheon with the expenses footed by Mr. Schmitz. For moments of relaxation at school, the teachers made good use of their faculty room. This year a percolator, cups and saucers, and a cupboard were added for those who enjoy a cup of coffee fdespite the high pricel . A sofa, new slip covers, and curtains made the room a more pleasant spot for the free hour of all. Moments of fun, hours of work, and much cooperation made this year one of success and achievement in all activities. Meetings were planned by Mr. Schmitz and Mrs. Williams. Social meetings were planned by Miss Powell, Mrs. Lund, and Mrs. Winslow with the assistance of all teachers. Flowers and gifts were taken care of by Miss Powell.

Miss Mary, Mr. Schmitz's secretary, stencils and mimeographs the daily bulletin, writes letters, files, keeps student clas- sifications, rings bells, stores and orders candy. The girls in the East Office run errands, type, and file. Don Adkins runs all of the downtown errands. Sutton, Liming, Kilburn, Fellows, Deuser, Milliron, Lee, Adkins Weatherly, Bondurant, Smith. Mrs. Riechman, a native Columbian, graduated from Columbia High School and Christian College. This year was the fourth year she has been in charge of the West Office. Each year she chooses girls who have free periods to work in the office. The duties of these girls are many and varied. They file, collect absent slips, check roll, type, answer telephone, and do mimeo- graphs. From money left over from last year, the West Office girls had a Christmas Banquet at the Daniel Boone Hotel.
