 CLASS WILL We the graduating class of 1951, of Hichman High School, in the county of Fulton, and State of Kentucky, being of sound mind (I think) and body, do hereby make and publish our last will and testament to you of Hickman High. Betty Jean Edwards To the juniors, we leave the headache of publishing next years Bluff. To the sophomores, we leave the making of money for the junior and senior trip. To the freshmen, we leave our dignity and thoughfulness. The seniors leave the unfortunate students their most outstanding characteristics. ROGER ALLEN BOWERS--His girls to Jody Malone. BILLY HOWARD CRADDOCK—His height to Harold Garrison. MARY ANN DOTSON--Her Slimness to Jean Glidewell. JULIA MARIE GARNER—Her love for the Junior Class. CLASS PROPHECy Eugene Moore Ladies and Gentlemen: I wish to introduce to you, myself. I am one of those who has returned from the wonderful career which Uncle Sam offers you. To pass away the time, I think I will browse around in some of these old papers. Here is an old looking one dated 1969, and it is called the Hick- man Gossip Paper. Oh well, I might as well peer it over and see what has happened to my old classmates. The former Miss Mary Jo Gibson, now wife of a local fisherman, has stated that she has caught the largest cat fish in the world. Turning the pages, I now look at the personal column. Well, well, it says that Mrs. Hughes has just returned from a missionary trip from Japan. Mrs. Hughes is my old classmate, Helen May. Betty Edwards has opened a large cafe at Shuck Switch and her wait- resses are none other than Joyce Ross and Martha Sue Terrett. Turning the pages to another column it says that Guelda Vaught is now owner of the Little Ark. As I glance on over the paper, I see that Roger Bowers is owner of the Ritz Theater, and his operator is none other than, that’s right, you guessed it, Tommy Royer. While reading in the sports articles I see that Billy Loyd Wilkerson has started playing ball for the St. Louis Browns, also that Robin Lee Pierce is playing professional basketball with the Kentucky Wildcats. I notice a bulletin that Billy Gene King is running a recreation hall, also he is known as the best pool-shot in Hickman. Hmmm., It says here that Billy Craddock owns a night club on the lake, and that the dance director is Miss Marie Garner. As I look over the school news, I see that Charles Hickerson has taken Mr. T. D. Ozment's place as Superintendent, and also Ray Wiseman is teaching in Mr. Riddle’s place. I see that Miss Mary Ann Dotson owns the Five and TenCent Store: also that Lena Margaret Lattus now owns a farm in Fulton. As I turn to page twenty-three in the paper, I see that John White is driving a hopped-up-model-A in the speed races; also Charles Wiggam is driving a new Mercury. I notice in the want ads, that Peggy Tiptonis wanting a secretary to help her in the office at the Ford garage. Here is an article stating that Dr. Miriam Stahr has opened a clinic on Broadway in New York. It says here that Mrs. Garrison has a bouncing baby boy. She is none other than my old classmate Virginia Stokes. Here’s another article saying that the book How To Walk Gracefully is now on sale in all drugstores. This book was written by Sidney Stone. As for me, I am planning on building a little home in Bardwell. 23

CLASS PESSI IMS! Well every year they always have a Class Grumbler, so this year for some reason I was elected it. In my opinion every one has the right to grumble if you ask me. You have to sit in the room every day, all day long with your head stuck in a book, which does no one any good. They give you four or five books and you are told to get busy and be quiet. They won’t let you chew gum, talk or do anything except study all day long. Then when dinner time comes, they let you off for about an hour fora little of real fun, but then after that back to study again. This kind of life goes on for about twelve or thirteen years for just a little thing called a diploma. Just think all this studying for just this. I’d like to meet the person who said we had to go to school anyway. And instead of giving us the diploma and letting us go home, we have to go through graduating exercises, wearing caps and gowns. Boy, life sure gets tedious. JOKES “I looked upon the mountain, I gazed across the plain, I thought I saw some green stuff, That looked like waving grain.” “I took another look, I thought it was some grass; Good gracious to my horror, I found. That it was the Freshman Class. Marie: “So John is teaching you how to play baseball? Martha Sue: “Yes. and when I asked him what a squeeze play was, I think he put one over on me. Eugene: “Why did you close your eyes when I kissed you? Mary Ann: “Because I thought I was in heaven and who ever heard of a black-headed angel. Dinkey: “You are the breath of life to me.
