Charles Wiggam will surely ruin his clothes Swimming to that girl in Scotland, if, and when he goes. Marie Garner never stayed in Home Ec. Class, And by Mr. Mitchell's door she'd stoop to pass. If you hear some commotion in town some night; Just look out the window, you’ll see John White. I’ll introduce Sidney Stone next; She's usually with someone of the opposite sex. When you cross the street in the early morn; Get out of the way if you hear Hickerson’s horn. Peggy Tipton has a fancy to cheer and yell; She says it's been fun, except the time when she fell. Tommy Royer would be out of place If he tried to sing tenor and not sing bass. Miriam is bright and ought to go far; It's not a wonder because she's a Stahr. B. T. keeps Virginia Stokes on the go, And why he keeps her guessing, I’d like to know. I've introduced them all, I'll be on my way. And in case you don’t know. I’m Helen May. Jo Gibson CLASS OPTimiST As the optimist of the Senior Class of 1951, I would first like to say that we, as a whole, are very optimistic. The members can spread light into the darkest corners. We feel that our years spent in school have been the happiest years of our lives. As we leave we will remember in our hearts our teachers, friends, and all of the fun we have had together. Two outstanding achievements made by the class as a whole, were taking the seniors to Smoky Mountains when we were juniors and publishing The Bluff of 1951. Some of the achievements made by various members have been serving on the Stu- dent Council, being cheerleaders, being honor students, and making good records in basketball. Our graduation is another milestone in our lives that will lead us to trials far greater than we're ever known and to a bigger and brighter future. Before leaving we wish to express our sincere thanks and appreciation to the faculty and especially to our superintendent, Mr. T. D. Ozment, and Miss Vivian Caldwell, our sponsor. Without their help the publishing of our annual would have been impossible. Now that we are graduating, I, in behalf of the Senior Class, bid adieu to our be- loved Alma Mater.

CLASS POM We’re about to have our class call; So give me your attention one and all. Robin Lee Pierce is called Mott; He's a good boy and I’ve said a lot. Lena Margaret used to be late, But she’s always on time when she has a date. Billy Gene King is asleep again; He'll wake up, but I won’t say when. Martha Sue feeds boys candy; A bowl near-by sure comes in handy. Skipping algebra again? Why Eugene Moore, What’s so important about sweeping the dressing room floor? Mary Ann hasn’t been the same Since she’s been in bookkeeping, taught by Mr. Roehm. Our most modest boy is Mr. Roger; If he sees a flirty girl he tries to dodge her. Betty Edwards is fond of stars. And one night she took a trip to the planet Mars. Billy Loyd is our class grumbler this year, And Mr. Riddle’s yardstick he really does fear. That girl skipping class is Guelda Vaught; It sure is a wonder she’s never been caught. Billy Craddock can always be found; Mostly when a group of girls is standing around. Joyce Ross was really a scared soul That night she got stuck in a big mud hole. Now where in the world is Roy Ray? I guess he’s taking a nap; he does this time every day. If you hear someone laughing in the show; Don’t be alarmed, it’s just Mary Jo. 21

CLASS PROPHECy Eugene Moore Ladies and Gentlemen: I wish to introduce to you, myself. I am one of those who has returned from the wonderful career which Uncle Sam offers you. To pass away the time, I think I will browse around in some of these old papers. Here is an old looking one dated 1969, and it is called the Hick- man Gossip Paper. Oh well, I might as well peer it over and see what has happened to my old classmates. The former Miss Mary Jo Gibson, now wife of a local fisherman, has stated that she has caught the largest cat fish in the world. Turning the pages, I now look at the personal column. Well, well, it says that Mrs. Hughes has just returned from a missionary trip from Japan. Mrs. Hughes is my old classmate, Helen May. Betty Edwards has opened a large cafe at Shuck Switch and her wait- resses are none other than Joyce Ross and Martha Sue Terrett. Turning the pages to another column it says that Guelda Vaught is now owner of the Little Ark. As I glance on over the paper, I see that Roger Bowers is owner of the Ritz Theater, and his operator is none other than, that’s right, you guessed it, Tommy Royer. While reading in the sports articles I see that Billy Loyd Wilkerson has started playing ball for the St. Louis Browns, also that Robin Lee Pierce is playing professional basketball with the Kentucky Wildcats. I notice a bulletin that Billy Gene King is running a recreation hall, also he is known as the best pool-shot in Hickman. Hmmm., It says here that Billy Craddock owns a night club on the lake, and that the dance director is Miss Marie Garner. As I look over the school news, I see that Charles Hickerson has taken Mr. T. D. Ozment's place as Superintendent, and also Ray Wiseman is teaching in Mr. Riddle’s place. I see that Miss Mary Ann Dotson owns the Five and TenCent Store: also that Lena Margaret Lattus now owns a farm in Fulton. As I turn to page twenty-three in the paper, I see that John White is driving a hopped-up-model-A in the speed races; also Charles Wiggam is driving a new Mercury. I notice in the want ads, that Peggy Tiptonis wanting a secretary to help her in the office at the Ford garage. Here is an article stating that Dr. Miriam Stahr has opened a clinic on Broadway in New York. It says here that Mrs. Garrison has a bouncing baby boy. She is none other than my old classmate Virginia Stokes. Here’s another article saying that the book How To Walk Gracefully is now on sale in all drugstores. This book was written by Sidney Stone. As for me, I am planning on building a little home in Bardwell. 23
