Officers of the Science Club are Sharon Carlson, Red Cross rep., Marianne Knatko, librarian, Richard Bran- ham, Student Council rep., Lois Sanders, vice presi- dent, Betty Lou Krier, sec.-treasurer, and seated, Sandra Hyvarinen, president. YOUTH PURSUES SCIENTIFIC INTERESTS Organized since I955, the Science Club offers students in senior high school an opportunity to pursue the study of science outside of regular class hours. The Science Club sponsors studentdiscussions, guest speakers, and auditorium programs of general scientific interest. It is affiliated with the Minnesota Junior Academy of Science and Science Clubs of America. Each year some members have entered outstanding exhibits in the state science fairs. In developing a Mardi Gras theme for the Girls' League dance, Lynn Erickson, Jean Nancarrow, and Kathleen Watson work on decorations after school. Every girl in 'senior high school may become a mem- ber of the organization and be permitted to assist with the work of the League. A Christmas assembly of sacred music was sponsored by the Girls' League. Also the Hollyberry Tea, and the Mardi Gras dance was sponsored by the League. Each year a scholarship is awarded to an outstanding senior girl. The League supports high scho- Iostic, democratic, moral, and social standards. Most of the work of the League is directed by an executive board con- sisting ot the officers and the committee chairmen. Adviser for the Girls' League is Miss Ruth Quigley, dean of girls.
