m 2 Using the vernacular ofthe modern man, John Bucklen draws the attention of the students when he gives an impromptu speech in dramatics class. Classes in speech, drama, dramatics, and debate are taught to interested students in grades 10, 11, and 12. fx. 9 To teach an appreciation for our language is the desire of Miss Leonora Bohn, English 10, counselor, Miss Mary Barron, English 12, Chairman, Essay Contests, Ellwood Kar- wand, English 11, 12, Hi-Times, Quill and Scroll adviser, Armaine Bierk, English 10, 11, and B. J. Rolfzen, English 12, N.H.S. adviser. Other teachers of English are Miss Grace O'Hara, English 10, Miss Irene Walker, English 10, and Maynard Hendrick- son, English 11, Hematite adviser. Experiences in all forms of communication are a part of the English curriculum. ln Mr. Karwand's English 11, Warren Vincent demonstrates his ability in oral composition. Students in English 11 and 12 used Warriner's grammar workbook for the first time this year.

Collin Versich, David Hanson Determining the size of molecules is one of the experiments which is undertaken by the talented physics class. This class under the P.S.S.C. program has been in the school since l958. The students havea different program with new books, movies, and tests.
