As an integral part ofthe school scene, the high school offi:e is the center of all activities. Here teachers sign in in the mornings, check their mail, and check student records. Students get their excuse slips, and the boys sorretimes confer with Mr. Kinney. Mike Hart is shown signing in from the washroom. 2 2 41 A-wal With the installation of an IBM system to handle the enroll- ment of students and the grading of tests, Hibbing become automated. Here the girls secure excuse slips and con- sult Miss Quigley on problems of school life. Roberta Norman waits to discuss plans for the Mardi Gras dance. x.... 0 With the re-activation of the Quill and Scroll, stu- dents were offered the opportunity to learn more about iournalism. Here Mr. Korwond, adviser for the Hi-Times, directs the initiation ceremony for the new members. J 113 ,, QW Dancing is always a favorite pastime for Hibbing students. The organizations and classes hold parties and dances in the girls' and boys' gyms. Culinary artistry appears in an unique place. Sandro Hy- varinen formed a cake into the design of time Quill and Scroll for the first initiation ceremony.

At three o'clock, it's a rush for the lockers and then adash for the school buses. To greet friends and to show them a treasured picture carried so lovingly in the billfold is a signal for the school day to pause for a breathe. Tomorrow these lockers will once more witness the greet- ings of old friends and the start of a new day. Many off'duty hours are spent in the science laboratory. Students who have developed a keen interest in physics find the facilities ofthe physics lab. available for their use after school. rx P Ce! N 5, I v Q f Q ,v With a large enrollment in the Hibbing schools, the health de- partrvent must be ready to serve the needs of the students at all times.
