The various topics in this field of learning have been m.tde a part of the curriculum because of their necessity to hu- nian relations. Nlathematiotl ability and achievement are most powerful and essential agencies to the progress of human soci- ety. The role played by mathe- matics is one of increasing im- portance. Geometry is one of the subjects best adapted for train- ing boys and girls in the habits of expressing their thoughts .tc- curately. Plane geometry pur- poses to give the pupil an insight into deductive reasoning. Solid geometry trains him to be ac- curate and logical in his thought and expression.
