sclrfiefigeskwg TZ CLASS HISTOR V And then we were seventh graders There stood the great b1g hxgh school w1th all those rooms we couldn't f1nd And we were frlght ened l1ttle creatures when we f1rst opened those doors It was abegmnnmg Remember? And then we were elghth graders The h1gh school wasn'tqu1te as large then and we faced It w1th a lrttle more conf1dence And of course there were those wonderful p1c n1cs at Moser's Grove and that txme we walk ed back to town 1n the dark Remember? And then we were freshmen We felt pretty b1g then as we stumbled through our f1rst school dances and wrote our f1rst book report 1n class 1n 1nk' We moved our books from Hoover Hall and proudly placed them 1n the h1gh school lockers Remember the thr1ll of our f1rst r1de to Sycamore m the back of a truck and the songs we sang Yes we were freshmen b1g enough to browbeat the Jun1or h1gh l1ttle enough to squ1rm under the glares of sen1or hlgh Remember? And then we were sophomores Wrth a full re al1zat1on that at last we were 1n h1gh school we Jomed H1 Y and Semor H1ghG1rl s Club and enjoyed the luxury ofahayrack r1de And that carol1ng party on a brlght w1nter's n1ght wasn't lt perfect' And there was the great fun of masqueradxng for our sophomore as sembly 'Vaudev1lle Returns ' Remember? And then we were Junlors Soft l1ghts' Musxc' Dreamland ' Yes thls year was fxlled w1th v1s1ons of our Jun1or sen1or prom D eamland' the wonderful sort of prom that 15 never forgotten And we worked on an assembly that year and went on band trlps and cheered at football games and brought home books we d1dn't f1nd txme to study And we sympathlzed w1th the senlors who gradu ated that year Remember ? And then we were sen1ors Somehow there 1S no way to descrxbe the wonderful funf1lled days of our semor year But as the weeks and months flew by we senlors grew to love our school more and more and to realxze that 1n th1s year there was a clxmax to our school years And we real1zed that we were gxven the re spons1b1l1ty of leadlng the school and work ed hard to benef1t It There was an Annual pubhshed that year and we put a lot of work mto lt And when we d1str1buted these beautl ful Redsk1ns we started somethzng new The S1gn1ng of the Redskm Ball Of cour we'll never forget our bus tr1p to Omaha on sneak day such wonderful fun' And as long as we lxve we'll always remember our sen1or play Our Town We applauded thejunlors Mother Goose prom they gave us 1n t year Then came Baccalaureate Pomp and Clrcumstance' and f1nally Commencement and our treasured d1plomas And we asked ourselves about the strange feelmg deep ID s1de us as we looked around at our robes and tassels And we could realxze then what our school really meant to us Perhaps xt was the somethmg that lxfted our chmns and told us we could reach hxgher thmgs Our leavmg too was a begxnnmg Remember? .Ah .1 r g 'I F vg 55'-.1 A fig' 15 . . . , .
