Main House X The sleepyhouse woke Off1C181ly at seven o clock The tnhabltants of the house woke offlctally at seven twenty n1ne There was a scramble to get dressed for breakfast tn tlme shoe laces broke and curlers were knotted laughter was heard and qutck anger oo Pass the butter and please don t put salt tn my coffee Breakfast was gulped and rnspectlon was survrved by throwxng the shoes under the e The chapel bell rang and half of the boarders were sull at Maln House The house settled down prepartng itself for the next 1nvas1on lunch The students came hungry for food and mall They left as qulckly as they came leavmg the a1r rtngmg w1th thelr shouts At four o clock hot water made a furrous descent rnto bath tubs as the students pre pared for d1nner The patter of feet was heard IH the hall as glrls v1s1ted from room to room May I please borrow your yellow sweater tomght'P These mrssrons were usually successful After studyhall ravenous students assembled tn the drnmg room for d1nner Laughter Jokes and llght conversatlon f1lled the a1r the young VOICES blendlng together to form a symphony of sound Nlghtstudy hall IS after d1nner Then the students come to Main House for the f1nal t1me that day Pxllow flghts and brushrng teeth ftlled the perrod from study hall to bed t1me And so to bed . . . if not to sleep. 33
