'SJ26' 'N H :gh School Literature Don t Forget What You Promised Me Don t forget what you promrsed me To Peter those words brought a feelrng of gurlt shame and sorrow Standrng there by the water hrs grref at last controlled hrm Rrrnnrng hrs frngers through hrs harr hrs face contorted rn grref hrs huge frgure bent over there came from hrs lrps a horrrble moan Peter s curly black harr was cropped short and sweat soaked Thrs made hrs frngers orly He wrped them on hrs tunrc and then wrped hrs eyes wrth the back of hrs hands He looked up suddenly Had anyone been near he would have seenastrong rntellrgent face the skrn of whrch was deeply tanned From hrs curved chrn hung a short wooly beard Hrs eyes were black but now around them a network of red starns had appeared Hrs body was huge wrth broad shoulders and the large unskrlled hands of a frsherman Large as they were they were capable of a great gentleness He was a man wrth the heart of a lron but wrth the compassron of a chrld for a hurt pet Was rt not enough that he had broken hrs promrse?
