Truss ville, Alabama Volume 38 Editor: Alan Fulton The 1984 edition of the Hewitt Trussvillc MEMENTO sadly marks the end of an era and happily the beginning of a bright new epoch. There’s much to be missed and lamented at the old Hcwitt-Trussvillc. The charm of its colonial facade, the comfortable familiarity of well-worn classrooms and busy hallways, and the deep, time-honored traditions that made Hewitt home to many for so long. Saying goodbye to the old and familiar will bring some regrets, but the anticipation and expectation of the new quickly replaces any feelings of sadness. Walls without graffiti, parking lots without potholes, new equipment that works, and the smell of brand new are feelings and sensations too powerful to ignore. So WELCOME to the new Hewitt-Trussville and let’s get on with the making of some new traditions. 9 17 Editor: Denise Tidwell 9 Michael C. The summer began when they attended Birmingham-Southern to the International Cheerleading Foundation Camp. Hewitt’s Junior Varsity placed second in the grand championship competition. In August the J.V. squad conducted its first week-long cheerleading clinic for about 75 girls. Learning chants, cheers, and pom-pom routines is an ongoing process. This year’s squad has been very dedicated and successful. Mtcbcllc Wheatherby. Head Dawn Wood.Co-Hcad Felicia Clem VARSITY Kelly Peter Kristi Vernon Sponsor.
