While promoting interest in these students who show an ability in the field of Art. we also strive to create an interest in Art for students who do not take it as a subject. Serving the school by accepting responsibility for decorations for holidays, for dances, etc.. we also work on at least one major product to enhance our school environment. This year we have also done work for the community. 201 BEAtem 0 U S4 202 ■ihotrr From Renee People . Butch Hyde. Mary Seed . Doug McIntyre. Mr Whittaker (sponsor). Bu,l. Joy Gilmer. Glenda Wren. It’s a year of silliness, confusion, disorganization, frayed tempers, nerves, and noise: but somewhere underneath all this effluvium, evidently some real work is eventually done. There are ads to sell, money to collect, pictures to sort and to identify, pages to design, records to keep and deadlines to meet —just barely. Under the brilliant editorship of Rachel Rachielles and Tamrnie Waller (who won a trophy for design at the University of Montevallo’s 1977 yearbook workshop) and the frenzied sponsorship of Mr. Walker, the yearbook staff manages to pull it all off and another issue of the MEMENTO is off the press ready for the student body to alternately praise and condemn, but in any event to autograph. 6 Kevin Cooper.
