Academic and Career Education Business education is both academic and career education. At Hewitt much emphasis is given to office education which has been organized into a three- year two-hour block program of special- ized study which begins in the tenth grade and continues through the twelfth grade. Business education is also rele- vant education since secretarial and stenographic positions top the list in em- ployment opportunities. Those students not enrolling in the block program are offered courses which enhance their academic education and prepares them to live in a business-oriented society. MR. Science, the Study of Nature Hewitt ' s science department is always filled with ex- citement. Whether it be dissecting a frog, conducting an experiment, or studying nature itself, the students always seem to enjoy the science department.
