Through a well-rounded program of activities Hewitt has added interest in respon- sible conduct and participation in competitive sports . Along with these, another important purpose of physical education is sportsman- ship In order to play effectively on a team, one must first have good sportsmanship . For those students who take an extra interest in physical education, they may serve as a physical edu- cation assistant. Academic and Career Education Business education is both academic and career education. At Hewitt much emphasis is given to office education which has been organized into a three- year two-hour block program of special- ized study which begins in the tenth grade and continues through the twelfth grade. Business education is also rele- vant education since secretarial and stenographic positions top the list in em- ployment opportunities. Those students not enrolling in the block program are offered courses which enhance their academic education and prepares them to live in a business-oriented society. MR.
