)Cenes MRS. MARION ORMOND is a most understanding ad- visor who is sincerely interested in making the schooldays more pleasant for teachers and students. She is in charge of rearranging schedules and helps students with all the re- quired aptitude and entrance exams. Mrs. Ormond tries to find time in her busy schedule to help everyone who seeks her help. MR. DAVID O. LOGAN, JR. works at Hewitt three days a week in the capacity of Vocational Counselor. His job also includes working with the neighborhood youth corps and other Federal programs. He also advises students as a regular counselor would. Mr. Logan deals directly with persons seeking information concerning occupational training. MRS. DELLA SUTTER has been Hewitt ' s bookkeeper 17 years. She must carry on her job amid the hustle and bustle which goes on during a normal school day. Mrs. Sutter also serves as receptionist for the school and money-keeper for Hewitt ' s many clubs. Hewitt just could not operate without Mrs. Sutter ' s assistance. MRS. LAURA PARSONS is most efficient in her task of keeping the records of Hewitt. She is in charge ot han- dling and filing all permanent records, transcripts, grades, transfers, etc. Evervone has benefited from Mrs. Parsons ' Uve years ot ser ' icc to Hewitt. 23

Behind the MR. HERBERT O. EUBANKS is our .issist.int principal and head-coach. His jobs require much time and effort, but he seems to be able to handle them very efficiently. Mr. Eubanks must handle discipline of the students at Hewitt along with his other duties. One must be very wise and strong to keep up with Mr. Eubanks ' many obligations, but we feel that he has the necessary qualifications for his job. He is well-liked by the students and faculty. He is very ca- pable and we are proud to have him at Hewitt! 22

Science probes deeper into the mysteries of existence MR. FRED WHITTAKER, JR. sponsors the bank .u Hewitt. He received his B.A. and M.A. degrees from Birmingham- Southern and Peabody College. He has taught at Hewitt four- teen years. It is essential that students take courses offered by Hewitt ' s Science De- partment if they wish to keep up with the rapidly expanding field of sci- ences. This offers courses in general science, biology, advanced biology, chemistry, and physics. Hewitt-Trussville has some ot the most modern equipment and the best trained teachers possible. This insures the best possible science program to be found anywhere. Students who wish to take a more extensive course in biology should take advanced biology. It is tor students going into biological or medi- cal fields. MR. ROBERT M. HAYNES attended Auburn University, where he received his B.S. and M.S. degrees.
