Our Principal Mr. ' I ' rottcr attended Samford I ' iiiversit) ' where he re- ceived his n.S. det;rec and Georqe Peabody College where he received his M.A. de qree. He was assistant principal at v.. B. r.rwin Hiqh School last year. He thinks that Hcwitt- Triissville Hii h School is a fine school and that we have more school spirit than any other school that he has been in contact with. Mr. Trotter is very proud of Hewitt-Trussville. He thinks that we have the finest group of students that he has ever been associated with. His pet peeves are long hair and smart alecks. Mr. Trotter is a member of the Warrior Assembly of God and he is President of the Jaycees. This is Mr. Trotter ' s message to the faculty and students of Hewitt-Trussville: v ' ith our school year coming to a close, we pause to look back upon the friends and happiness we have had. This year has been filled with many experiences which I shall never forget. The joys, the sorrows, the fun, and the hard work — these are all part of our memories of the past year. My deep appreciation goes to you, the students, the faculty, and the hard-working Memento Staff for the won- derful cooperation that you have given me throughout this year. I have enjoyed serving as your principal, and I hope that in some way I have helped to make Hewitt-Trussville a better school for you. Faithfully yours, Jimmie Trotter Principal

Guidance MRS. MARION ORMOND, the most un- derstanding guidance counselor a school could have is always helping the students and fac- ulty with their everyday problems. She helps rearrange schedules to fit the needs of the students and helps the students with all the required aptitude and entrance exams. Mrs. Ormond is the girl ' s advisor at Hewitt- Trussville, but anyone who needs understand- ing advice may go to her and find it. Mrs. Ormond seems to make problems dissolve because she is a wonderful guidance advisor and a sincerely concerned person. MR. THOMAS CLEMENTS, our assistant principal and guidance advisor, is one of our most important workers here at Hewitt- Trussville. This is his second year at our school, but he has already accomplished a great deal toward making it a better school. Discipline of the students at Hewitt-Truss- ville is one of Mr. Clements many duties. Many of the problems of the school rest on the shoulders of Mr. Clements, but by care- ful thought and wise decisions, he brings about a solution for each problem. 22
