Guidance MISS VIOLET TYLER, a lovely understanding woman, is always around to help the students and faculty. She tries to help the students decide on what future schooling or careers they wish to enter and to determine the necessary steps toward their chosen field. She encourages and helps the students with all the many required aptitude and college entrance exams. Miss Tyler is the girls' advisor at Hewitt. When a girl needs good, understanding advice, she can always depend on Miss Tyler to help her. A good guidance advisor is a sincerely concerned person, and this we have in Miss Violet Tyler. MR. REUBEN ROBISON, our assistant principal and guidance advisor, is a fellow with big importance here at Hewitt. He has to stand in and assist Mr. Stephens when necessary and lend helpful instructions to the faculty members. Among all of his many other duties, Mr. Robison has the responsibility of discipline of the students at Hewitt. He gets to the bottom of problems quickly and tries to help students overcome these problems. He is well equipped to give helpful advice. His lovely family life is proof of this fact. 13

We Proudly Present Our Principal Mr. D. D. Stephens It is the responsibility of man to develop the resources of nature, to guide streams so they can fulfill their potential usefulness by bringing life to arid lands, by making deserts bloom. So, too. it is the responsibility of the Principal and his staff to guide the power of our teachers, channeling it to help the students of HTHS blossom into meaningful maturity. We are indeed fortunate to have leaders such as our principal, Mr. D. D. Stephens. Principal’s Message Dear Students: I want to congratulate the entire student body and especially the Annual Staff on your plans and support of the school annual. We had a very fine annual last year and this year’s is even better. You are to l e doubly congratulated on your extra fine effort. 12

Secretaries MRS. LAURA PARSONS is our capable record-keeper at Hewitt. Records of all descriptions: permanent records, transcripts, grades and transfers, etc. are hers to keep in order. This is a tremendous duty when one considers all the various records kept on each individual student, and then considers the number of students here at Hewitt. MRS. DELLA SUTTER, Hewitt’s bookkec| cr, hus been here fifteen years. Bookkeeping alone is a big task involving hard work and concentration, but Mrs. Sutter does much more than this for us. She is our receptionist, always smiling and glad to help everyone. She is also the one responsible for helping the student clubs keep track of their money, which is usually all in nicklcs, dimes, and pennies. Thank you Mrs. Sutter. Keep smiling and keep those books in balance! 14
