Its purpose is to bring together the various communities served by the school. In addition to the activities shown here, displays in home arts, books, Scouting, and other fields of interest were exhibited each night. On Monday night, three one act plays, What’s Wrong With Girls”, Sorry, Wrong Number”, and Make Room for Rodney” were presented under the direction of Mr. Mobley and Miss Thomas. On Tuesday night a Talent Show” was presented with some of the best talent we have ever seen or heard on Hewitt’s stage. After much deliberation on the part of the judges—Mr. Hugh Thomas, Director of the Birmingham Conservatory of Music and Bill Bolen,W.S.G.N.—the following were selected as winners; First Place, Tommy Robbins; Second Place, Suzanne Moncrief; Third Place, Beverly Willcutt. Brenda McFrancis looked lovely in one of the dress furnished by Friend Sisters for the Fashion Show on S nesday night. On Thursday and Friday nights we were entertained with an exceptionally good presentation by the Choral Department of Victor Herbert’s The Fortune Teller” under the direction of Mrs. McKinnon and Mr. Mobley. Let’s have a repeat performance of the Festival of Arts” next year! We think it was a great success. Sludenl (Council Officers MRS.
