You have grown in ability and achievement and you are ready ”to set sail” into the nineties with the same momentum with which you leave the eighties. As you leave the eighties, you should not Forget all oF the Fun and Friendships and success that you have generated and cultivated as citizens oF your school and community . From these beginnings you will enter new and unchartered waters known as your Future. We trust that you have prepared yourselves so that smooth sailing will be yours and that ’’the winds will always be at your back”. IF that be true, then this will be ’’the Last and the Best oF the Eighties”. CLASS OF '89 In recognition of 27 years of service and dedication, the Class of 1989 wishes to dedicate this edition of the Heuvel- tonian to Mr. William Lynch. When Mr. Lynch became our class advisor in our sopho- more year, he took on a somewhat discouraged class. But, with his help and dedication, our class has come together as a team. Throughout our high school years, he has been there to challenge us to stop and think— whether it be to solve a math problem or decide how many times we really need to vote on a theme song. For these reasons and many more, the Class of ’89 is proud to dedicate this yearbook to Mr. William Lynch. Tonight is the night that begins all our endings; Tonight we want time to stand still. Tomorrow and yesterday meet here and now. We linger at memory’s door And we wonder what happened to all those good times. We wonder what, now, is in store. 32 Most Daring: Dave Scott Tanya McGaw “You gave Mr. Lynch what grade?” Most Mischievious: Greg Gilbert Shyest: Jim Berbrich Jenny Mayhew Most Flirtatious: Jeff Scott Virginia Alberto Senior Class Officers: President-Lois Bullock, Trea- surer-Renee Fenlong, Secretary- A.J. Backus, Vice President- Herb Rushlow To The Class of ’89, As we move toward graduation many of us are asking our- selves—Am I ready for the future?—What comes next? As I look around me at the people who have been my classmates and friends throughout highschool I see a very diverse people who have shared with each other fun and games but also have helped their friends through trying times. I see a group of people who care about each other and the future. With these qualifications who isn’t ready for the future? As for the other question, well, only time will tell. But until that time good-luck and best wishes. RENEE FENLONG has been hard at work decorating; JIM STOWE, JIM BERBRICH, and JON BARTON have already started blaring the music; and ROBERTA GIBBONS and NANCY ASHLAW, owner and operator of Frog Inn’s Catering Service, are busy in the kitchen preparing the food donated by Super Duper’s new managers MIKE LAKE and BRIAN MCKENDRICK. Around the kitchen table, happy homemakers JOANNE FOSTER and ARLEENA are sharing their favorite recipies with restaurant owner JENNIE ALBERTO while social workers JENNIE MAYHEW, SHEILA NAUTEL and LAURIE ROBINSON hover around trying to determine if there is a connection between a childs behavior and the food he eats. By the front window, chemist, LOIS BULLOCK; physicist, HEATHER DODDS; and engineer, MIKE SIM- MONS are telling SCOTT about the latest developments in farm technology. Over by the couch, famed mathema- tician Harry Moore is telling JULIE, TONYA, COLLEEN and TIFFANY, (Yes folks, they boycotted a Statelands party just to be here), how he proved in 46 pages that a circle is round. But Harry is not the only one who has made his claim to fame, coming through the door now, escorted by corrections officers DAVE PREMO, JOHN RAYMON, and AL COTA, is BILL RIVET who is doing 50 years to life in prison for sabotaging IBM. Next to arrive is the Hollywood jet set consisting of the sleepy star of Nightmare on Elm Street Part XIV, BILL BAILEY, and his make-up manager KIM DENNER, the new lead singer of Guns N’ Roses, DALE STRADER, his lead guitarist HERB, and those zany stars of the McDonald’s commercials, LISA ARQUETTE and SUE PIN- KERTON. They have just taken off their coats when wild life manager ROB SIMMONS enters chasing an escaped mammoth from BESAW’S ZOO which specializes in animals developed by zoologist CHRIS FOULTZ. Rob almost has the furry creature when RANDY mistakes it for a bear—but never fear, veterinarian MIKE JOHNSON is on the scene and carpenter LANCE ARMSTRONG volunteers to take care of the damage caused by this escapade tomorrow. With one disaster taken care of another threatens to occur when RON VOLANS, escorted by his secreteries SHEILA GRAVELINE, JENNY MERRITT, and HEATHER RECORE, refuses to let mechanic JEFF SCOTT under the hood of his Lamborghini. This argument is stalled however when Mayor of Morristown KELLIE THOMPSON greets the arrival of President NEWELL and Vice President HOLDEN. Are they Democrats or Republicans? There’s no time to decide as bodyguards GREG GILBERT and CLARK ZANKER push them back into their Limos when ANGIE SPAMAN and DAVE SCOTT’S soccerball knocks over a lamp and starts a fire. Fir- efighter TOM BENNETT puts out the blaze as nurse JOANN SCOTT tends to TED WELLS who is suffering from smoke inhalation. During the commotion TARASA brings word that the new owners of Anheuser Busch, CHONTELE and NIKKI are just arriving with their driver MIKE HUTTON and samples for everyone. Right behind them are MR. TIMMERMAN and MR. LYNCH bringing with them—what else— pizza! When things finally settle down, the CLASS OF ’89 decides to follow the advice of the song PERRY is singing and “PARTY LIKE IT’S 1999!” 92 : 93 lag ( JOHNSTON ELECTRIC AND MAINTENANCE Petroleum Marketing Equipment Sales - Installation - Service Petro - Tite Tank Testing Earle Johnston Heuvclton, N.Y. 13654 Congratulations Seniors FLO'S TRINKETS East Raod Heuvclton, N.Y. 13654 344-8820 CONGRATULATIONS To the Class of 1989 Lee W.
