Ames, Superintendent of Schools Glenn W'. Timmerman, Vice Principal Guidance Director Robert J. Balfour, Director of Elementary Education Joseph P. Derrigo, Elementary Guidance Harold G. Covey, Business Manager Treasurer BOARD OF EDUCATION Joan Kennedy, Clerk Kenneth Chambers Stephen Putman Bruce Nichols Thirteen years ago most of you who are members of the Senior Class assembled for the first time in school. There were 109 of you and you became known as the Class of 1988. Since September 1975, you have grown in many ways. Although there are only about half of the original number still in this senior class you are prepared to cross the threshold of a major plateau in your lives -- graduation from secondary school. Following June 24, 1988 you will go your separate ways -- to work, into the services, out to higher education. Though you may be near or far from your home school, you may find it difficult to assemble all your membership for a class activity as alumni. You may say adieu, au revoir, auf wiederschen, farewell, bon voyage etc. as you depart your alma mater but you should never say goodbye -- just so long until we meet again! 3 DEDICATION TO: MISS L. BERTRAND Dedication We, the class of 1988, would like to dedicate our yearbook to Miss Linda Bertrand. We feel that she deserves this honor because of the genuine concern she has had for all of us throughout our years at Heuvelton Central. As our English teacher for the past six years, Miss Bertrand has always been willing to give her time and effort and was always able to see the best in us when we could not see it in ourselves. Her patience and understand- ing have helped us become appreciative of learning and of the world around us. Miss Bertrand has a unique talent for encouraging us to develop to our potential as individuals and as a class, acting as class advisor during our Sophomore year. As a token of our appreciation for all she has done, we are proud to dedicate the 1988 Heuveltonian to our teacher and friend — Miss Ber- trand. Thank you. Joe has apparently hired Julie Skellv. now a co-owner of Burger King, to prepare the hors d’oeuvres for the guests. First to arrive is Tricia Cook to be sure she has a landing space for the Skywalker II, her private spaceship. Diana Brooks, recently crowned Miss America, gracefully enters the door and trips over her sash but is quickly scooped up by the newest playboy king, Tony Lancto. Everyone’s coming in too fast for the butler, Larry Nichols, to handle, even with his Bundy body. As we look over in a corner, we see Brian Dibble playing the bongo drums while Amy Jennings and Becky Howes limbo to the beat. How low can you go? There is quite a commotion outside as we see two super-stretch limos pull up to the curb. In the first one is Katie Ames, the first female president. Out of the second comes David Balfour, the vice president, followed by his personal secretaries, Shelly Zanker and Nicole Ferguson. They have their personal bodyguards, Bubba and Thumper for any emergency protection. As we now enter the building again, we hear a wedding march being played by musician, Dan Morlev. It seems that Heather Bartholomew and Beth Doyle are having a double wedding performed by Reverend Tim Felt. Bongo music is coming from the ballroom and we see Missv Cobane and Steve Scott belly dancing on the tables, but they are soon struck down by Mike Schneller practicing his Evil-Knievel stunts. A fight seems to have broken out in the hall between Jason Tehonica and Kevin Youngs, currently employed by the Heuvelton Sanitation Department. They’re trying to decide who has to clean up a mess made by horse jockey, Tracy Miller’s stallion, Buck. Computer hacker Joe Caswell has been busted by our two police officers, Sean Corrice and John Bailey, for breaking into Dawn Dibble’s and Lori Teer’s computer full of cosmetology secrets. The new school secretary, Tammy Curry, has just informed us that some of our former classmates cannot be with us tonight. Generals Tim Reese and Karen McCotterv have been arrested for smuggling illegal weapons into their homes. Andv Thornhill and Scott McCormick haven’t returned from an important “Bud Club” convention in California where “Rob Powers and the Fat Boys” are performing their new version of “Wipe Out”. Jerry Shannon’s car has once again been totalled so he is stranded somewhere in the boonies with his sister, Kelly Shannon, the center for the Harlem Globetrotters. It seems that a few of our classmates have become quite distinguished. Amy Witherell will be starring in the Broadway play, “The Return of Olive,” with Angela Ashley as backstage help. Jeff. Steve, and Tracy Todd have opened a general store in Depeyster called, “Todd’s Trea- sures.” They’re not the only ones with a business, though. Jeff Duford has his own pharmacy in downtown Heuvelton. Rumor has it that Kim Foultz has her own gossip column published in The Enquirer. Oh no! Now we see Michelle Johnson and Elton Johnston pushing the pacer down the road because they couldn’t get it started. Thank goodness for our mechanics, Bill Simmons and Brian Moulton. After a little checking, though, it seems that the gas tank is empty, but professional gas station attendant, Kevin Powell has started to siphon the gas out of Renee Martin’s driver ed. car. No one’s really sure how she got that job. Teacher, Karen Brown has just arrived and is being followed in by artist Jenny Berbrich. Everything seems to be under control except for an argument in the back. Cheerleading Coach, Janine Goccia. is complaining to janitor, Tom MacKav. who has taken over his dad’s job, that the lights in the old gym hang too low for her cheerleaders to do their 7-person high pyramids. Oh well, nothing much has changed. It’s nice to be with all our friends again, but someone seems to be missing. Wait! There she is! The famous vineyard owner, Laurie Poor, is letting us sample some of her best vintage wine! Slowly, balloons drop and we hear our Alma Mater, “All My Rowdy Friends Are Cornin’ Over Tonight!” c F I I ( 1 1 I I Nichole R. Ferguson Kimberly A. Foultz Janine M.
