DEDICATION TO: MR. L. AMES We, the Senior Class, would like to dedicate the 1986 Heuveltonian to Mr. Ames in appreciation for his twenty- two years of exceptional service. Mr. Ames' major concern has always been with the education of the students. He has helped our class in many ways: in scheduling dances, in planning our prom, and by being supportive of our efforts to raise money. His dedication to his work and his commit- ment to our school have helped Heuvelton Central be the exceptionally fine school that it is. Because of the above, the Class of 1986 would like to dedicate this yearbook to Mr. Ames as a way of saying “Thank you for his years of hard work and support. MESSAGE TO THE CLASS OF 1986: From Superintendent Of Schools: Today We Follow - Tomorrow We Lead This generation has said that today we follow; tomorrow we lead. Today we have the responsibility of preparing new leadership for the future by giving them the best possible leadership now. We must be worthy of their following, and they must be astute enough to follow leaders deserving their apostolate. We must educate and encourage young people to know the best so that they may formulate their plans for the time when we shall follow them. Our hopes for those young people who will lead us in the future are well stated in the following paraphrased supplication: God, grant them the serenity to accept the things they cannot change; courage to change the things they can; wisdom to know the difference. May these future leaders, the graduates of today, move ahead with strong and active faith in their ability to be able to discern will today so that they may direct us well tomorrow. Lawrence S.
