A hope, a desire, a notion. A feeling that can expand as far as you want it to. And terminate at your command alone. A struggle for peace and tranquility. To conquer and rise above all evils. Leaving nothing but goodness behind. An achievement you strive for, and complete in the end. An ultimate goal . . . An idea too brilliant to let anyone else know if its existence. An expectation to make the most of whatever you have, And not let anyone else hold you back. A secret buried within your mind. An awe for the moon, the sun, the stars and the universe, For wisdom and progression. For fame and fortune, For love and honor. Because when all that you have is taken away, The only thing left is A dream. Lauren M. Bauer MESSAGE FROM: SUPERINTENDENT OF SCHOOLS: Sometime in the future, as you sit alone with your conscience and time seems to have stopped momentarily, you may reflect back on your years at Heuvelton Central. As you think back to the days of your school- ing, you'll recall your friends, your teachers, your activities, your achievements, your family and all of the good times that you had as you relive those school days gone by. Wherever you may be in the years ahead and regardless of your station in life, the recollection of your past school years will truly be moments to remember . Lawrence S. Ames Dedication To: Mr. J. Hanagan We, the senior class of 1985, have the privilege of dedicat- ing our final class project - our yearbook - to an individual who has given Heuvelton Central School twenty six years of exceptional service. It is with great pride and prestige that we dedicate our yearbook to Mr. Jon Hanagan. Mr. Hanagan always has time to answer our incessant questions - in or out of class. How many times have we questioned how he finds the energy and enthusiasm he uses unsparingly in his daily classes? Mr. Hanagan does more than simply reiterate textbook facts and statistics; he retells and reinacts history in a humorous, yet realistic way. No matter how gloomily the day is going, we can always look forward to one of Mr. Hanagan's cheerful classes of historical anecdotes character- ized by his unique wit. With great respect and admiration, we salute Mr. Jon Hanagan - an outstanding teacher and friend who has helped to make our high school years memo- rable. Senior Class of 1985 Appreciation To: Mrs. R. Kelly And Mr. L.Dezell We, the Class of 1985, would like to extend our sincere appreciation to Mr. Lee Dezell and Mrs. Ruth Kelly. Their guidance and support have been invaluable during our high school years. Mrs. Kelly, our class advisor for the past three years, has always been there when we needed her and has been our pillar of strength through all of the difficulties that con- fronted our class. Mr. Dezell, a friend to each of us, was our advisor for the yearbook and class advisor for our senior year. His organi- zational abilities have proven to be invaluable and his initia- tive has been an example for each of us to follow. Our success as a class is a result of the willingness of Mrs. Kelly and Mr. Dezell to spend the necessary amount of time to draw the class together when we needed each other the most. Once again, our thanks for the dedication you have shown the Class of 1985 during the past years. Mrs. R. Kelly Mr. L. Dezell Let me see here! Don't you remember! ....i The other way! Let's Eat! ( r Cu Sta Ma Ca Kn [ It has been 10 years since the spectacular class of '85 escaped the horiffic clutch of Heuvelton Cen- tral school. This incredible reuniting is being held at LaRheome's , where our very own chef, JIM RHEOME has prepared a feast for his class- mates. As we go inside, we can see small groups of people standing in the plush surroundings that our interior designer, CAROL LIVINGSTON, created. In the corner, we can see carpenters, JOE WILMOT and DAN MILLER, discussing some blueprints that TINA GRAVELINE, an architect, designed. MARK KELLEY, the owner of a large wooden car business is discussing his plans for buying out the Rolls-Royce company with his five chief mechanics, TIM FISHBECK, LYLE HOOPER, DAVE LEGAULT, E.J. CARTER, and SCOTT GIBBONS. It has now been announced that BRIAN SKIPKA has just arrived. It seems that Brian, who has become a multi-millionaire, has brought a copy of his book, PROFANE LANGUAGE AT ITS BEST, for everyone to read and enjoy. Across the room, LEO ST. GERMAIN, the village computer-hacker, is trying to persuade VICKI FISHBECK and FRANK POOR, two of Xerox's technicians, into divulging the passwords to Xer- ox's new super computer. LES ARMSTRONG and JIM BARTON, out fielders for the New York Yankees, are leaning across a table arguing about whose fault it wasi that the Yankees lost the '94 World Series while beside them, BRIAN AND BRAD PHILLIPS, owners of a farm that used to be the Town of Depeyster, with their manager, RANDY JACK- SON, are trying to buy out TOM NICHOLS' s farm Galilee Meadows Acres. Standing to the side are AMY FREEMAN, JA- NET YOUNGS, MELODY LANE, COLLEEN CORRICE, AND BETH MATICE discussing the new regulations that the nurses have to follow. In the center of the room, SCOT BALFOUR, the owner of the Frog Computer Co., Inc. is discuss- ing his wishes for the new Tadpole 200's success on the market with his chief executive MARK.; FREEMAN and Mark's secretaries, ANNETTE BESAW, DONNA CHILDS, JODI DOWNING, TINA MONTROY AND LORI HOOPER. Meanwhile, out on the front lawn, ARNEY THOMSON and TED GAGNON are playing war games with their personal tanks. Inside, CHRIS MEUTEN, a three star Genera! and SARIANNA LAHTI, an interpreter for the United Nations, are discussing the political con- flicts arising in France. Meanwhile, in the next booth, DONNA WITH- ERELL, newly appointed to the office of the Unit- ed States' Defender of Peace and Justice is dictat- ing the speech she has to make at the cabinet meeting tomorrow to her secretary, JULIE HUTCHINSON. Next to arrive, in a shiny corvette, is KEVIN GRIFFITH the new Playgirl Playmate of the Month . Over in the corner, LISA TODD, x-ray technician and ALBERT JOHNSON, physicist, are discuss- ing the new cure for bone cancer Lisa discovered. Next to them we see BRIAN MARTIN of the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Laker's cheer- leader SUELLEN SLOAN, arguing with JODI THORNHILL of the Cosmos about a play that occurred 10 years before. MARCIA BESIO, our stewardess and VERA DURHAM, a passenger on Marcia's flight in from the Caribbean, have not arrived yet, as the} are waiting for a connecting flight to Heuvelton It seems like most everyone is finally here, bul wait! There's a loud siren in the distance - it looks like.....yes, it is! Our resident father, JEFFER PIERCY in his new Pantera with state policemen JAY NORMA WILLARD following right be hind at 80 mph. Jay is trying to arrest father fo embezzlement of church funds. Our lawyer, KEb LALONDE, runs to father Jeff's rescue while de tective, MARK GOOSHAW, tries to put the fact together. Things haven't changed that much in 10 years after all. Scot A. Balfour If you can imagine it, you can achieve it. If you can dream it, you can become it! Donna L. Childs Bernard J. Barton Marcia J. A friend is one who is always there, To be with, talk to, and memories share. At school, at play, whatever you do, A friend believes in and encourages you. Yet, sometimes things happen that you can't explain; A sudden departure and you feel much pain. And even though a friend has gone away. You know his memory in your heart will stay. ______ Students Attending Ogdensburg Schools Row 1 Kneeling - Melody McBroom, Ray Howes, Kelly Sanford, Kristi Kuvik, Lome Barley, Darlene Hall.
