i Growing Together Remember how frightened we were that very first day? So many new faces and places how could we stay? But the days became weeks and we became accustomed to this place Each new morning brought a smile from a new friendly face. As the weeks turned into months, we found we could depend on each other. We made close relationships, just like sisters and brothers. Now our months have turned into years, we’ve shared our laughter as well as our tears. Yes, we’ve shared our joys as well as our sorrows but it’s time for us to leave and face new tommorrows. We know we’ll make it, we have to, we better. After we spent all those years sharing and caring and growing together. Anita Brown ; J

HEUVELTON CENTRAL SCHOOL DISTRICT BOX 375 HEUVELTON, NEW YORK 13654 Phone 344-2414 Town of Oswegatchie, DePeyster, Macomb, DeKalb, Lisbon, Canton BOARD OF EDUCATION Lawrence S. Ames, Superintendent Alfred Nichols, Pres. David Kingsley, Vice Pres. John Felt Daniel Barr Shirley Christensen Kenneth Chambers John Zeh John Cerio, Clerk George Berkley, an 18th Century Bishop of Clogne in his writing “Can Love Be Controlled by Advice”, wrote: “Youth we can have but today We may always find time to grow old.” These lines point out poignantly and succinctly the irreversible paths people follow as they grow together with others of their generation. Years come and go and you will grow together. People come and peo- ple go and you continue to grow together. As time ticks away your youth of the present, you will find time to grow older and wiser with each day of your future with your friends and acquaintances. No one escapes the growing process or the aging process. Thus while you are in the flower of your youth, try to grow in all ways possible — academically, socially and athletically. As you grow together with your family, friends and acquaintances you’ll be prepared to enjoy more fully the fruits of your labor. When you reach those Golden Years of retirement, the pleasures of those years may well be the result of “Growing Together.” Lawrence S. Ames Superintendent of Schools
