W MSMOKJAM Diane Childs The Class of 1977 remembers Diane Childs for her spirit of friendship. Her smile lives in the memories of her many friends and family. We are glad to have known her, and to have shared some of life's moments with her. We came this way young and questioning, Searching for answers and seeking paths. We have spoken and debated; We have asked and listened; And we have learned • • • We came this way inexperienced and unfinished, Looking for the parts that would complete a whole. We have sat and pondered; We have accepted and rejected; And we have grown • • • We came this way less than what we are today We have acquired new philosophies and new ideas. New ways of acting, living, being, We have learned, We have grown. NEW YORK There comes a time in the life of a school when we must look beyond the graduating class to those that help to mold our philosophy, integrity, agility', and competencies. We must look at some special friends of Heuvelton Cen- tral School. During our Bicentennial year, we, the Senior Class, wish to express a few over due words of appreciation to some of our friends. Mr. Stanley McCadam Mr. Stanley McCadam has served as Board of Education member from 19S5 until 1976. He has been a valuable booster of the Heuveltonian, and of academic and athletic activities. Mr. McCadam has always had a positive insight into the needs of the students. His outlook has been an inspiration to all of us. A valuable friend . . . thank you Mr. Stanley McCadam. Described as the Original Mr. Heuvelton Booster , Mr. Ralph McMartin is an avid supporter of Heuvel- ton Centm! School's athletics. It is his attendance like yours at all Bulldog games that has helped us to win all these years. His unique laughter and win- ning way has made a deep impression on all who know him. H.C.S. salutes you . . . Mr. Ralph McMartin. Some of us know you as our bus driver, some as our insurance agent, some as a music supporter, some as a Bulldog booster. We all know you're available when we need your help. We all know your warm smile and watchful eye. We thank you for your help and support. We salute you . . . Mr. Bob Crawford, our friend Mr. Ralph McMartin 109 Mr. Bob Crawfora Mrs. Jane Hendee There are few words to express our grad- itude to Mrs. Jane Hendee. Described fondly by her administrators as well read, special and competent. She has inspired many English students of Heu- velton Central School. Her youthfulness tempered by rigid discipline created the aura round one of H.C.S.'s greatest ladies. Most respectfully, we salute Ms. Jane Hendee. 112 The pupose of this yearbook is to remind us of our friends and the memories we've shared with one another. We've come a long way together and have had many good times and bad. We've been to many dances, and parties and have spent most of our waking hours with our friends. Some of these friendships will slowly fade away, but they'll never die. They have helped prepare us for a world we haven't seen yet and a life we haven't lived yet; because of this our friendships are immortal. It took many long hours to complete this yearbook and much hard work. We've had our disagree- ments and more than our share of setbacks, but it taught us one very important thing: you can't do anything without the help of your friends. We hope these pages remind you of your friends. We would like to thank two very important friends; the Hartmans. One of these, Mrs. Hartman, has put up with a lot of procrastination and a seemingly endless amount of work, but she put up with it and helped us give you the 1977 Heuveltonian, Thanks for your friendship.
