SENIOR CLASS HISTORY As starry-eyed Freshmen in September, 1958, we began our four years of high school. Our first order of business was the election of officers. We chose the following to be our helmsmen: President- Jerry Manford, Vice-President- Kathy VanOrnum, Secretary- Linda Paquette, Treasurer- Raymond Ripa, Student Council- Delberta Moore, Sergeant at Arms- Bill Kypreos• Our Freshmen year passed all too rapidly and then we were Sophmores. Our Sophmore class was aptly led by President- Jim Sovie, Vice-President- Ted Wiencek, Secretary- Kathy VanOrnum, Treasurer- Maxine Bice, Student Council- Linda Law, Reporter- Delberta Moore, Sergeant at Arms- Bill Kypreos, and our advisor was Mr. Boatwright. We weren't really concerned about money-making projects until our Junior year. Then right after we elected the following: President- Maxine Bice, Vice-President- Rodney Wells, Secretary- Marsha Hanna, Treasurer- Sheila Putman, Student Council- Tom Stalder, Sergeant at Arms- Bill Kypreos and our advisor- Mr. Cousineau, we plunged into various money-making endeavors. We had a successful food sale and car wash. Then we Juniors sponsored a series of record hops from which we raised money for our Prom. May 19 was the gala event and the gym certainly was beautiful as our theme Abound the World was portrayed with scenes from many famous places. The Varsity 16 from Potsdam State supplied the dreamy music and it will long be one of our outstanding memories. At long last we became Seniors. The first order of business was the elec- tion of the following officers: President- Maxine Bice, Vice-President- Ted Wiencek, Secretary- Mary White, Treasurer- Sheila Putman, Sergeant at arms- Bill Kypreos, and Mr. Cousineau as advisor. Then we began many projects. Our record hops furnished welcome recreation as well as financial Profit. Our Winter Carnival, Babes in Toyland , was undertaken with the Juniors as our co-workers. Me held many events at the new community ice rink and the highlight of events was the Winter Ball. A large crowd danced to music provi- ded by the Varsity 16 from Potsdam. The weeks and months .rolled on so rapidly that suddenly graduation was at hand. Our graduation-the moment we had waited four years for-marked the end of our high school years and also marked the end of carefree childhood days. Now we were adults in an adult world. Elaine Pierce
