Mr. Mark V. SELLIS Supervising Principal Canton High School 193 ST. LAWRENCE UNIVERSITY Bachelor of Arts 191+2 Master of Education 191+7 PRINCIPAL’S MESSAGE To' the Class of 1961: In the past school years we have heard much about our position in national and world affairs. Outstanding Americans have expressed in writing and on television their beliefs regarding the purposes we have had, continue to have and which guide us in the future. These people have challenged the thinking of many others. You are now ready to assume the obligations of an active citizenship and it is important that you do this willingly and with an earnest mind. Public life should be among the highest and noblest ambitions. To promote the general welfare is to achieve the greatest of all benefits to-one's country. The responsibility of leadership rests upon the liberally educated. With the advance of new research and new planning we all hope that each will develop his or her potential to cope with the problems of this fast changing world. I extend my congratulations to you as members of the graduating class and know that this Ileuveltonian will in the future refresh you with memories of yesteryear. Principal 7
