In the play-offs, they dropped to fourth place. The whole school is proud of the athletic achievements of the various teams We are proud of them mainly be- cause they proved themselves real cham- ions in the true sense--in their fine display of good sportsmanship, loyalty to the school, cooperation with their team mates, and willingness to work SVJ t vVe A iW cA cottcC teA Journal All Valley—1951-52 flvo e to» . e Voto» petl0t to . a eU°T povtv to? cve and C»da r % Plenty Of Zip On Seconds The second team has just about as much height and power as the first five. Heuvelton stopped Hermon- DeKalb, 71-52. Other league unes saw Madrid come from behind to dump Lisbon, 70-67, and Waddington walloped Ham- mond, 63-27. Heuvelton checked A1 Al- guire, Hermon’s big gun, in the first half, holding him to five foul points and moving out to a 29-18 lead. The winners were helped when Vining, big man on the H-D squad, iouled out be- fore the half. The Conklin-coached squad had three men with three or four' fouls and had to use them spar- ingly in the second half so that Alguire broke through for 14 more points, but it was too late. Heuvelton broke loose for 42 points in the last half, 25 of them in the third quarter for a 54-31 lead going into the last eight minutes. Everyone got into Heuvelton’s scoring act, with Fairbairn, Ashworth and Ray Countryman setting the pace.
