All it takes is a little Homecoming Magic to bring out the.spirit in everyone. Homecoming '81 was certainly no exception. The week started off with an assembly on Monday to present the court and announce the weeks events. After school all the clubs went to work and decorated the halls. This was the first year that most of the decorations stayed up until Friday. Because they looked so great, no one wanted to tear them down. Tuesday was Class Dress-Up Day. The Freshmen wore hats and ties. Sophomores dressed western while the juniors wore togas. Seniors showed their - class spirit by wearing sweats, sunglasses and bandan- nas. f By Wednesday, Homecoming Week was in full swing! The color-coded balloon messages were dis- tributed and students could cast their vote for King and Queen. The evening was filled with games and activities, too. Almost Anything Goes and the Pow- derpuff soccer games really proved exciting. Thursday was Coronation and it was definitely a huge success! The gym was decorated beautifully and the ceremony was lovely. Thursday was also Punk and Preppy Day and everyone who participat- ed had a great time dressing up. Friday was loaded with events! At the pep assem- bly, the contest results from the week were an- nounced and prizes given out. Gary Pratt received a Pampers diaper for his first place finish in the foot- ball player's Babyface Voting Contest. Tony Fran- kiewicz received a pink fluffy garter for being the soccer player with the best Prince Charming legs. The excitement really peaked when Sara Vazzano got a pie in her face for being the class president with the most money votes. Tom Bieschke conclud- ed the pep assembly by firing up the crowd and football palyers before the car rally. This year the parade was bigger than ever and all who participated had a riot! Although the football team had a heart- breaking overtime loss Friday night, the team really put forth an outstanding effort. , Saturday concluded the successful week with the Homecoming Dance, sponsored by the Varsity Club. All who attended had quite a memorable exper- ience. The entire week was full of memories and mega- spirit! lt definitely proved to be the most exciting week of the year.
