The Best Of Times Prom 1981 May 29th, 1980 marked the date of the 73th annu- al junior-Senior Prom which was held at the Chateau Ritz of Niles. The dance began promptly at 7:00, and so did the fun. The entertainment was provided by the band Horizon, which played a good variety of songs. The theme song The Best of Times was also played and not one couple remained seated. The highlight of the dance was the crowning of Kelly Werth as Prom Queen. Other members of the court were Rose Vazzano, Sue Coleman, Kerry Ho- gan and Caren Gauvreau. Favors were given to all the couples attending the dance. The girls received tulip champagne glasses, while the boys received mugs, both bearing the school emblem on them. The evening, which was sponsored by the junior class, was filled with joy and excitement, and it really was The Best of Times, by Anita Frankiewicz Prom Queen Kelly Werth and date. sms Ellen Fabbrini and date show how good dancing is done Steve Link and Carrie Conrad enjoy another dance together. g oi. , . '81 Grads each Out For The Future On Monday, june 8, 7981, four hundred and twenty-five students proudly received their diplo- mas during the 12th annual commencement at john Hersey High School. The ceremony began as the students anxiously walked down the aisle to the tra- ditional playing of Pomp and Circumstancef' The invocation was then read by Lisa Korbas. The senior class president, Kelly Werth, gave her last statement to the class of '87, while Richard Bach- huber and Harold Best, both from the Board of Edu- cation, presented the diplomas. Cheers of joy as well as sorrow filled the air as students pondered on their post years at Hersey High School. by Kelli Shoub Students anxiously await their big moment.
