Softball Has Tough Season The girl's softball team, coached by Mrs. Holm- gren, had a successful season with an overall record of 8-72. They advanced to the Regional Play-offs where they lost to East Leyden, a team that eventual- ly went down state. Thejunior varsity team, coached by Mr. Foster, finished their season with an 8-11 record. The varsity team, made up of three seniors, six juniors, and four sophomores, was led by Co-Cap- tains, Cathy Crews and Kim Shultz. Crews was select- ed by the team as Most Valuable Player and Shultz was elected All-Conference. Other important team members were Mari Brinkman, Susie Hill, Carolyn Sheyker, and jackie Steffens. All of the girls showed much determination throughout the entire season. Coach Holmgren is anxiously awaiting the next season.
