Physical Ed. Dept. Pro vides Fun And Exercise P.E. is the only class that students are required to take throughout all four years at Hersey. lt has be- come more exciting for juniors and seniors, due to the fact that they have the opportunity to choose among many activities. For instance, they may select volleyball, basketball, weight training, aerobics, bowling, and more. This enables students to enjoy P.E. more because they are in the group they select- ed. As always, there were changes and adjustments among the teachers. Both Mrs. Sadler and Mrs. Duba left the staff to become full-time mothers. Miss Ost married and is now Mrs. Wright. Miss Sullivan also married, and is presently known as Mrs. Holmgren. Mrs. Manning formerly Miss Blaney, was a 7975 gra- duate of Hersey. If students participate and are enthusiastic in P.E. it can be very challenging and enjoyable. by Sharon Bickley Nancy K naack shows her defensive skills. Viginia Cogdill has a strong arm for soccer. Competition and fitness are both a part of gym class. Mrs. Holmgren instructs her students well. Miss Swanson signs up a tardy student for after school P.E. fun.

Deaf Ed. Department Growing Hersey's Deaf Ed. Department seems to be getting bigger and bigger. This year it has grown to over eighty students, the biggest it's ever been. The de- partment staff continues to grow also. Teachers new to our Deaf Ed. program are Ruth Cohen, Linda Siers, and Driver Ed. teacher Bud Bornman. New inter- preters are Christy Egan, Diane Sparacio, and Mary Yuill.
