F1 Soc. Sci. For. Lang. Dept. Deals With Human Conditions, World Culture Students benefit a great deal from the Social SciencefForeign Language Department. They learn how to speak many different languages and learn how people behave in their cultures. The depart- ment sponsors language clubs and the S.O.S. Club. The resource room is a great place to research infor- mation about subjects concerning this department. New changes in curriculum are in store for next Lorri Wibicke entertains a little friend for 5.0.5. tm U13 year, one of which includes a Psychology ll course. The Marriage and Family class was almost dropped Pm from the program next year, but it wasn't because lim' the class was too popular with many students. The Twentieth Century War course is changing its title to fm.. Conflict and War. Mr. Schmidt, the head of this department, is concerned with decreasing enroll- ment. lt is difficult to keep offering the specialty courses with declining enrollment. Mr. Schmidt is still going to try to keep offering the courses despite this problem. Looking forward to next year, the department is expanding its horizons. lt hopes to continue to offer new and exciting challenges to students. by Karen Lakome Mrs. Thies shares French culture with her students.
