Choirs And On-Stage Sing The Year Away The Hersey choir and On-Stage members are known as talented, hardworking individuals. The members are extremely dedicated to their work. Some of the years activities included participating in competitions. The Treble Choir competed at the Choir Festival, held at Six Flags, St. Louis, Missouri. The solos and ensembles competed at the IHSA competitions. Earlier this year, students auditioned for the IMFA and seventeen members made the District Chorus. Individual honors were given to choir members during the school year. Doug Swanson, an outstand- ing talent, made the All State Choir. Choir and On-Stage members strive to develop a good voice and further their interest in working with groups and ensembles. The outcome of their efforts is the poise and stage performance skill that each person masters. One of the differences between On-Stage and choir is that On-Stage uses movement to help en- hance their performances. On-Stage performers also acquire the experience and ability to sing and dance on different types of stage settings. Of the choirs at Hersey, On-Stage is the most prestigious. The choirs of Hersey High School are dedicated to the growth of vocal talents along with competitive recognition. by Virginia Cogdill Gwyn sings with exceptional concentration. Ann, lim, and Gina really Let the Sunshine in. The boys sing and add a little spice to their fruitcake. The choir performs with success.
