Girls' Swim Team Splash es o Victory The 1980-81 Girls' Swim Team had a very good season. They Hnished with ten wins and four losses. This record made them the best team in District 214. This year the team placed sixth in conference and seven th in districts. All the girls did a good job. How- ever, a few girls did exceptionally well. Junior Kelly Davis placed first in the 100 yd. backstroke and 100 yd. butterfly in the conference and district meets. Also placing first in both meets was freshmen Lisa Hoffmann in the 50 yd. freestyle. Since both girls did so well, Lisa and Kelly advanced to the state Hnals. Besides competing in their individual events, they swam in the 200 yd. medley relay with sophomores Amy Walkowiak and Lori Conlin. Everyday from 2.'00p.m. to 4:00 p.m., the team prac- ticed hard at Wheeling High School. Along with Herb Parsons, who has coached the swim team for many years, there were also two new coaches, Patti Walker and Joan Callan. Next year should be another good season for the Girls' Swim Team with all but two swimmers return- ing. by Laura Payne Kelly Davis waits anxiously for the race to start.
