It all began on Monday, September 29. with a morn- ing assembly introducing the court. and proceeded with the start of the baby picture contest which would last all week. During the lunch hours the Root- beer Drinking Contest was underway. But the day wasn 't over yet: after school, clubs were busy putting together decorations for the halls. Band took first for their hall, Orehesis took second, and third was given to Yearbook. Tuesdays activities included College T-Shirt Day and Angel and Devil Food Eating Contest during the lunch hours. This went along nicely with this year's theme, Heavenly Homecoming. Teacher-Class Dress-Up Day was Wednesday. along with the Bubble Gum Contest. The real excite- ment was at night with Powder Puffand Almost Any- thing Goes. The first game was the Senior A team against the Junior A team which the Seniors won. The second game was the Senior B team against the Junior B team which the Juniors won. 'I'he third game was a championship game between the winners. The Seniors ruled over the Juniors. The week kept rolling with the Banana Eating Con- test on Thursday. Coronation took place during the afternoon where Craig Schachtschneider and Karen Lange were crowned as King and Queen. They also presented the game ball that night to the soccer play- ers. Friday 's activities started with Color Day and the dressing contest during the lunch hours. Later on, the Pep Assembly got everyone ro wdie for the big game. After an early dismissal, the Car Rally got underway. Later that night the game ball was presented by Ka- ren and Craig. The game was tense, and after many efforts the Huskies were defeated by Barrington. I 4- 13 in overtime. Homecoming Week ended on Saturday, October 4. with the traditional Homecoming Dance. Music was provided by Cotton Mouth. orona tion Flows With Excitement The 1980 Homecoming Coronation was held Oeto- ber 2 in the llersey gvinnasiuin. The senior class re- presentatives did a beautiful job of deeorating the gym to represent this years theme Homeeoming In Heaven. The suspense of the eeremony was broken when Karen Lange was erowned Queen, and Craig Sehaehtsehneiiler was erownerl King of Homeeom- ing, 1980. The Queen is Court eonsisterl of Connie Cos- tello, Chris DeFazio, Lynn Foloky, Debbie Fulton, and K elly Werth. The K ing is Court was eompriseii of Mike Conlon, Steve Miehaels, Mike Sehmidt, Toni Troppe, and Donn Vueo vieh. The ma.-:terand mistress of eeremonies were Da ve Bro wn and Chris Weinbezg. The Coronation program ineludeu' a performance by On Stage andothe King and Queens trzitlitional walk.
