Ba dmin ton Team Smash es ith Pride The 1980 Badminton Team ended their season with an overall record of 0-11. The team, which consisted of two seniors, three juniors, six sophomores, and eight freshmen, tied for fourth place at the Lake For- est Invitational. The Most Valuable Player for the 1980 season was Vicki Luempert. She did an outstanding job playing first singles, earning third place at the Lake Forest Invitational and receiving second place at the Shep- ard In vita tional. obin Glink Reigns ver Prom 1980 The 12th Annual Junior-Senior Prom held on May 30, at O'Hare Kennedy Holiday Inn, was a very memorable event. The dance started at 6:00 p.m. with dinner being served at T00 p.m. The band Choice provided a romantic evening with its variety of music, including the theme song Always Be Together . The strolling minstrels also provided a mellow mood. The most exciting part of the evening was the crowning of Prom Queen 1980, Robin Glink. Members of her court included: Katie Baldwin, Denise McPheron, Debbie Sandlund, and Julie Swanson. Each of the couples who attended the dance were given favors. The girls received mugs with the theme inscribed, and their dates received mugs with the I-Iuskie emblem. Special thanks are given to the junior class and their sponsor Mr. Blim for providing an evening full of joyful memories, by Rose Vazzano Queen Robin Glink and escort Jeff Koziol share a dance.
